About Hamed
Meet Hamed Meera, MA, RP
Founder of HealNest Clinic | Registered Psychotherapist | Lifelong Learner
I’m Hamed—a trauma-informed therapist, lifelong learner, and fellow human who believes that healing happens not in isolation, but in relationship.
My work is rooted in the belief that people already carry the seeds of healing within them. Therapy, then, isn’t about being “treated” or “corrected.” It’s about gently uncovering the parts of you that have been silenced, dismissed, or overwhelmed—and supporting them with care and clarity.
“Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about returning to yourself.”
My Training & Approach
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and am a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). My clinical approach is both holistic and evidence-based. I integrate:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
IFS (Internal Family Systems)
CBT, CPT, ACT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy
Each of these modalities offers something different—and I choose from them based on what you bring into the room. Your needs guide the process, not a protocol.
I work with adults from all walks of life, especially those navigating trauma, grief, chronic stress, anxiety, or the aftermath of motor vehicle accidents.
Culturally-Responsive Lens
As a Persian-Canadian citizen and immigrant myself, I understand that healing is shaped by culture, community, and identity. I honour intersectionality in therapy, and my lens is deeply informed by lived experience as well as clinical training.
Whether you’re navigating migration, loss, identity, or marginalization, your story won’t need to be explained or translated. It will be held.
I also welcome and affirm clients from the LGBTQ+ community and recognize that healing must include safety, dignity, and voice.
Why I Do This Work
I came to psychotherapy not only through academic study, but through lived experience. Like many of the people I now support, I’ve known what it feels like to navigate change, loss, cultural dislocation, and emotional pain without a clear roadmap.
Over time, I found my way to healing through relationships that offered presence rather than pressure—where I wasn’t pathologized, but understood. That’s the kind of space I now aim to offer others.
This work isn’t just what I do—it’s part of who I am. It’s rooted in the belief that healing is possible, and that every person—no matter how overwhelmed or lost—deserves to feel whole again.
A Bit of My Background
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent years teaching linguistics, communication, and ESL in both Canada and abroad. That background taught me how meaning is made—and how powerful it can be when someone truly understands you, not just your words.
Therapy at HealNest is an extension of that same belief: your story matters, and it deserves to be heard with empathy, not analysis.
I also offer sessions in English and Persian (Farsi), to ensure that language is not a barrier to connection or healing. Whether you feel more at ease speaking your first language, or want space for the nuances that come with bilingual identity, you're welcome here—fully and fluently.
💬 If you’re ready…
…to begin a therapy journey that is collaborative, non-judgmental, and shaped by your pace and values—I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
