What to Expect
Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong.” It’s about meeting what’s human.
Beginning therapy can feel uncertain—especially if you’ve never done it before or have had past experiences that felt impersonal or rushed. At HealNest Psychotherapy Clinic, I aim to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported from the very first step.
Here’s what you can expect when working with me:
A Gentle Beginning
We’ll start with a free 15-minute consultation. This is a chance for us to briefly connect, answer any questions you may have, and see whether we feel like a good fit. You won’t be expected to share your whole story—we’ll keep it light and low-pressure.
A Tailored Approach
There’s no one-size-fits-all therapy at HealNest. I draw from a wide range of evidence-based and integrative therapies, including EMDR, IFS, CBT, CPT, DBT, ACT, and SFBT. Together, we’ll choose the approach that fits you—your needs, your story, and your comfort.
Fees & Accessibility
Session Fee: $160 (individual therapy, 50–60 minutes)
Sliding Scale: Limited lower-fee spots available for clients experiencing financial hardship. Please don’t hesitate to ask.
Payment: Accepted via e-transfer or through JaneApp payment.
Receipts: Provided for insurance reimbursement (if covered under psychotherapy).
Booking & Cancellations
Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
I ask for at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling
Missed appointments without notice may be subject to a cancellation fee
Your First Session
In our first full session, we’ll take the time to explore what’s bringing you to therapy, your hopes and concerns, and any relevant background you'd like to share. We'll also review consent, confidentiality, and the therapy process together—so that you feel safe and informed from the start.
Virtual, Confidential, and Convenient
All sessions are conducted virtually—via Jane App or by phone—allowing you to access therapy from wherever you feel most comfortable. These platforms are PHIPA-compliant, ensuring that your privacy and personal health information remain secure.
No commuting. No waiting rooms. Just a quiet space and a good connection.
Confidentiality
As a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO, I follow the highest standards of ethical care and confidentiality. Everything you share is held in confidence—except in rare cases where safety requires otherwise (we’ll review these exceptions together in our first session).
Your story is yours. And it will be treated with the dignity it deserves.
Still have questions?
That’s okay. Reaching out for therapy is a vulnerable step—and you don’t have to have all the answers before you begin.
